Self-Pity works like a drug to keep us looking at ourselves rather than the Lord. It will cause us to stay in self-introspection; replay memories in our mind to keep us bound to the past; and keep us feeling sorry for ourselves, . It is known as the "super glue" that binds us to the past!
When we take time to thank God for our present circumstances, whatever they may be and know He is in control of all of it, we can rest. When we thank Him for all the things He has blessed us with (house, job, car, family, friends, pets, food, marriage etc.) there is no room for Self-Pity. We can trust God to work things out for us.
Isaiah 46:4 Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you. The simple act of being grateful and thanking God for the blessings in our life will combat Self-Pity.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing,
in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Dear Heavenly Father, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I confess and repent of the sin of self-pity because of ___________ in my life. I cut off the power of involvement in the generational sin and curse of __________ in my life and in all my generations.
In Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the power of His blood, I cancel all of satan’s power and authority, programming and assignment over me. I command all the tormentors and unclean spirits that have been assigned to me because of the generational sin and curse of __________ to leave me now and never return.
Heavenly Father, I ask You to place the cross of Christ between me and ___________ that this will all stop at the cross in Jesus’ Name. Please cleanse my conscience with the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ from all the guilt, shame and dead works that I might love & trust the holy living God.
Holy Spirit, please come and heal my heart and tell me Your truth.
